It’s just one schism after another until religion is abolished and finally defeated? Looks like a Europe 2 versus Europe 1 issue.
… I placed this article in my file titled “World Going Dumb”. This example is just one more instance of a member of Senior Clergy speaking in what is quickly becoming a “new tongue phenomena” in the church. The tongue of public inane utterances.

I don’t even know where to begin… but I suggest one obvious starting place is the fact of a female archdeacon to begin with. Back in my Anglican days, we traditionalists were warning that it would be the first step on a long road of absolute craziness, with each manifestation of it a working out of the implicit “logic” that was behind the original assaults on the ritual and sacramental teaching.

I’m with you Dr. Farrell as I’ve witnessed it in the Episcopal church since the late 1960’s. I love the Anglican mass and the book of common prayer but they’ve strayed so far it’s hardly recognizable.
Hear! Hear! I too am a former Episcopalian and the Church left me, I did not initially leave the Church. Bringing in female rectors, changing all the chants, dumbing down the Book of Common Prayer and changing the formal mass simply took everything out of what I had worked so hard to understand and believe in joining the Church through catechism and the many years singing from the pews under the organ pipes in the sanctuary.
The fish bowl we all swim in seems to have gotten a bit toxic over the years since 1 A. D. Wonder how that happened, too many ideas put into action, willingly or forcefully swallowed? Knowledge contains both stupidity and intelligence circulating around each other in cycles.
Maybe we need to drill down to figuring out what this Christianity Thing is all about & how it began?! How do we KNOW Jesus was even crucified??? Joseph P. Atwill makes a case in his book, “Caesars’ Messiah”! Churches make good Support Groups, but so do AA meetings!! We each support what we find to be helpful, don’t we?!
