Raymond J. de Souza: Government overreach on COVID measures has been about

The must vax conversation is trying to go public here in Canada, but is it too little too late? I think it is.

Hope porn to confuse the electorate while the clock ticks rapidly down to zero hour in regards to the mandatory jabs if you want to keep your job.

The vax campaign is working…to hell with the unvaxed seems to be the mindset dejour.

The lies continue or the hope porn continues. Or, with the high vax rate, perhaps enough damage has been done to the population to continue the agenda basically unopposed. You decide.

This sounds like a pedo defending himself by saying his victim must have consented because he accepted the candy bribe.

“It’s important that the public be offered some reason for hope, some prospect of a reward for getting vaccinated, living cautiously and putting up with restrictions that don’t always make sense. Case in point: gyms still have capacity limits even though all the people in them are vaccinated. And the risk is what? That changes Monday.”

I’ve noticed lots of prevarication and hope porn from politicians, the UK being an outstanding example. In my view, it’s nothing more than a series of temporary, tactical withdrawals. They keep testing the waters.

If you’re in a Western country – especially an English-speaking one – I think it would be utterly foolish to believe governments are going to stop pushing the injections or the restrictions on normal human life. I’m in one of the “freer” parts of the world, and I’m desperately trying to scenario-plan for a future where I may not be able to get goods, services, food, or medical care due to possible future restrictions (not to mention the other possible reasons).

As people start to realize how bad the situation is, there may be more tactical withdrawals and small compromises, all meant to be temporary. But the slide, fast or slow depending on where you are, toward totalitarianism will not stop until and unless enough simply refuse to comply.
