Recovered from a prehistoric grave at Dakka in Nubia

Recovered from a prehistoric grave at Dakka in Nubia, the egg carries three unmistakable triangular forms. Beside them is a winding line remarkably reminiscent of the Nile, while a large cross-hatched shape farther east appears to correspond with the Red Sea.

The egg is 7,000 years old.

Archaeologists have described parts of the decoration as possible giraffes. But I see something quite different. I believe we’re looking at a representation of ancient Egypt’s geography…

I am always amazed by the archeologists’ learned helplessness. some of them may pass for a good fiction-writer
