Good audio reading of this Matt Taibbi piece
Always good to hear what Matt T has to say. He forgot one thing in his piece. It was a Putin who first is /was trying to do a regime change in Ukraine and is failing miserably.
That doesn’t mean I want to see a Navalny in a Kremlin. He would be 10 times worse than Putin. His nationalism is at the level of Nazi party.
As I posted almost 2 weeks ago, Putin cannot win this; & I caught some BS for it, because Putin allegedly going for Biolabs, etc., rah, rah, Putin… I don’t dislike Putin but, as one man said, he IS a thug, plain & simple. This does not preclude Putin becoming desperate enough to keep his control & using tactical nukes to do so, or FF from The West with those weapons. The Russian People are even worse about standing up than others.
I recommend finding some people in Ukraine to follow. Most journalists have been captured and put to death by Ukraine military/Azov units but you are not getting any news if you think they are losing or will lose. The amount of torture and unnecessary civilian deaths caused by the Ukrainians has the Russians even more determined. Putin will not win the war of popularity around the world, though he is even more popular now in Russia as he defends ethnic Russians in Ukraine, but I don’t think he gives a whit about that. He wants NATO and the West on the other side of this soon to be disarmed, neutral country.
I’m not disputing what Ukrainian military is doing, I’m saying Putin cannot win this & yes, as this man says, Putin IS a thug. I know plenty of Russians; I’ve been there! Regurgitating news will not change the outcome & Putin’s eventual loss.
Using even tactical nukes will unleash hell on earth. Putin knows this. Where would he hide if one of the first target will be his Mediterranean style palace in Sochi. He loves warm weather. I don’t think he’ll enjoy the rest of his life in a bunker in Siberia.
100K Russian already left Ukraine for Russia. Those who stayed, are fighting on the side of Ukraine. They consider themselves the citizens of the sovereign Ukraine, even thou they may be a Russian by nationality. They are angrier with Putin than native Ukrainians.
The person who made the videos I’ve attached alludes to the psychology Putin is using; the threat of WW3, as a means of backing his opponents down. I agree with you that such “threat” cannot hold others off for very long.
See the video I just posted re: “Once the richest man in Russia…” You might not agree with the source interviewing him, but he has exceptionally good insight into Putin & should be heard.
We do ourselves a great disservice by not listening to everyone; this is different from believing everyone.
I think Khodorkovsky is being truthful.
@ebmason Maybe I didn’t express myself clearly, these 2 videos you posted are brilliant, especially second one.
@QVBB I did not mean to imply that you were misunderstood by me; I agree the young man (compared to me) is spot on. His YT covers are off-putting, but the content is genius.
This one also rings a lot of unwanted bells, but people need all sides heard.
