Whenever I read a statement by the likes of Glazyev or Lavrov, I’m taken aback by how intelligent and grown-up they sound, compared to the kind of statements I’m used to hearing from their Western counterparts. Just contrast this article with a speech by Christine Lagarde, for example. This doesn’t mean I’m in love with Russia or hate my own civilization; it’s just striking and sad to me.
I know education and culture are in decline in the West at the moment, but we’ve still got some smart, sane, well-spoken people within our borders. May it please the Divine Intelligence that one day they find their way into positions of power!
