After relying on Russian made rocket engines manufactured in factories based in the Ukraine for national security launches since the early 2000s, the United States began switching to newer, next-generation engines made within its borders. After SpaceX received three missions from Space Systems Command as its first part of the contract. The company began using non-Russian engineered engines in the Falcon 9 and other versions of their Falcon space rockets. As of March 3, 2022 Russia’s space agency, after the start of the Ukrainian conflict, Roscosmos stopped all deliveries of Russian-made rocket engines to the United States.

No wonder Musk has switched his tune so quickly and from being pro UKR, now wants to finish this war asap because he cares for young Ukrainians dying senselessly (pun intended)
