Shiloh update tus aug 4 2026

Folks Shiloh is back and better than she was Sunday night/Monday morning when I took her to the emergency veterinary hospital. The diagnosis, with which her primary care veterinarian concurs, is vestibular ideopathy, an inner ear malady that hits older dogs, making them stumble about, disoriented and like they’re drunk, or young puppies just beginning to walk. It’s very frightening. They both told me usually it comes on very suddenly, and sharply, then within 72 hours begins to sharply dissipate with 7-14 days before they return to normal. She is better today, even attempting to jump up on her favorite spot on the living room couch. But it will be a few days and I am continuing to be with her, as she is barely eating, though did take a long pull on her water earlier today, to my relief. I do thank you all for your prayers. Please do not let that stop you from emailing articles of interest! I noticed a sudden and sharp drop in them after I posted the announcement about her. While I may or may not be able to blog this coming weekend, the grist for the mill will be archived!

Thanks for the update. Shiloh will surely have the best of care. I guess HIPAA doesn’t cover dogs?

… I’m pretty sure Shiloh gave Dr. Farrell consent to release health information.

So good to hear. Keep getting better, Shiloh!

Excellent news! Thank you for letting us know what happened.

Wonderful to hear.
I expect she’ll be checking her pee-mail very soon.

That is indeed good news. God speed to recovery.
