Saw a sign today on a local metro bus advertising government program for a $9,000 funeral rebate for Covid 19 deaths…how much do votes cost and made off of them? When the campaign expenses and various government handouts are factored in billions and billions and billions….democracy is surely expensive, no wonder the threat to democracy is being hollered everywhere. The gravy train has run out of gravy.
Wisdom from a fellow Scotsman -
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

According to author time frame of 200 years, America still has almost entire century ahead as an empire, providing that its glory days began with end of WWI.
And to think a brain chip will break the cycle?
… even longer if you use 1947.
So now we know the price of a human life: $9,000 . . . Or is that the price of a vote? Either way, it’s pretty sad.
Add in the $53,000+ for a hospital stay before dying.
