Well, we also had one of the most draconian and longest lockdowns anywhere in Europe. Not that I am advocating lockdowns, Sweden did really well without doing them at all. But when you have a rural country and pretty much lock people in their homes for two years, it does limit the spread of some illnesses, but it also destroys immunity to other diseases so people start getting sick as soon as they finally get out again (colds, flu, even COVID 19). It also destroys the economy, set a generation of children back to far some may never learn to read, and well, I’m not sure it was worth it - not for that long, not on that scale.
