Fly Me To The Moon:
The photographer Leonardo Sens, waited 3 long years to take this fantastic shot in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I had this as my laptop wallpaper until about 2 weeks ago!
Beautiful! I’m waiting up with it now – til 11:35, when it will be at its fullest in California.
It’s so clear out, I can see perfectly! Remember … Once in a blue moon!
You are lucky that you could see this spectacular moon show, Alicia!
We’ve had worrisome prolonged drought here, since the spring (as if our moisture patterns have been stolen to serve other areas), along with “weird” weather anomalies (e.g., an entire night, a couple of days ago, of forked lightening with eerie “musically” sounding thunder ringing booms, unusual for our particular area).
The weather engineers waited until exactly yesterday’s Blue Moon to send us (much needed) rain downpour, so that we couldn’t see anything but clouds! And now, the forecast is to resume with our dry weather…
btw: I recently read Mike Bara’s “Ancient Aliens on the Moon”, and somehow now wonder about our moon with new eyes. Book Detail | Adventures Unlimited Press Bookstore: Books on Conspiracy, UFO's, Holy Grail, Templar Studies, Mayans, Olmecs
p.s. love Count Basie’s the rendition of “Fly Me to the Moon” that you posted! I used to love playing that piece as a kid (on my accordion, piano, violin)
p.s. Here’s a sampler of Peter Soave’s (American-born accordion maestro who now resides in France) interpretation of “Blue Moon”: ‎Apple Music
Thank you, Fu… It’s beautiful, like you
Thanks for the , I will listen when I get free tonight. I learned Blue Moon on the piano from my babysitter. She eventually got me to be able to play Flight of the Bumble Bee …we kept it on the down low from my teacher, who caught me playing just about everything by ear, and faking sight reading. Reminds me of Bayou musician’s expression at auditions: Do you read music, boy? Talent nods. Whispers under his breath: not enough to interfere with my playing…
).
Excellent!!! Thank You!!!
Totally AMAZING picture!!! Thanks!!
Unfortunately, we didn’t see the Blue Moon at our place, given the “sudden” rain event.
Hopefully you managed to see it at your place!
We saw it here in drought stricken central Texas and so did our coyotes. With the number of Great Pyrenees who are responsible door bells here on the ranch, it wasn’t quiet.
No go here in Central NYS, but got to see it the next night!!
Some photos of the moon taken about half an hour ago along with a photo of Jupiter and her four biggest moons.
How gorgeous!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~
