Taiwan news channel accidentally airs false report of Chinese invasion

Could be a Freudian drill for the real thing, but not sure China’s gonna do it. Just in case, huh? LOL!

I’ve participated in training exercises depicting different catastrophic events, none of a military nature though, those are left for the military. One mistake that is never made is broadcasting on a public forum of any type during such an exercise. There may be media people present but they are not connected to their on air equipment. Media may have a very large role to play in such a situation, and reporting takes a back seat in the role of disseminating information. By fulfilling that role, they are actually reporting but with less drama. If one wants to know if a given radio station is working, turn on a radio and dial that station in. You don’t connect to it during the exercise. You may connect by landline but it would not be interfaced with the broadcasting equipment in an exercise. Making this look like a mistake is beyond amateurish to me. It was intentional, no doubt in my mind. It doesn’t just create confusion and chaos, it creates distrust, and that rather quickly.

Agreed, I’ve also participated in training exercises, the last 20 years, depicting different catastrophic events and everything was on a closed broadcasting network, so go figure!
