Event planning on a global scale is SO difficult, especially when the customer wants something that’s more “over the top” than the last event. Sometimes there’s just not that many creative ideas left in their tool box.

And 'Ol Remus has a few words for you too: Stay away from crowds!

The whole ‘opening ceremony’ concept has no purpose. Used to be athletic teams in dress uniforms proud of their nations marching by to pay homage to the Olympic flame. When did this ‘we need to entertain them - put on a show’ thing get started? (I stopped watching long ago). Just an opportunity in my opinion to get in the face of John Q Public with a perverse message.

… the Olympics themselves have NO purpose or meaning. The same can be said for “professional sports”. Their only purpose is to generate various and sundry revenue streams from those who should be putting their time and money to much, much better uses. Well, I guess one could say that they do provide tailoring, haberdashery, and lingerie for some.

I’d be willing to call it conditioning on an occultic level for those who don’t recognize what they’re watching. New World Order stuff, the IOC is pretty evil.

Conditioning for the “absurd and ridiculous”? Please give more credit to the average viewer to see and understand the “show stopping spectacle” for what is being presented. The whole thing was ridiculous.
