Contrived is the best word to describe the advent of modernity. We have our dear brotherhood of intellectuals from the Enlightenment and radicals they spawned to blame. Who couldn’t have succeeded with their ideas and propaganda without the support of a cadre of wealthy ‘do gooders’ hooked on social engineers. Thanks for writing your book to explain modernity’s effects on buildings and architecture.
