The doors of Saint John Lateran in Rome are over 2000 years old.

Yeah, the Vat-I-Can did quite a lot of repurposing in the early days.
Reduce, reuse, recycle. They were ahead of their time. The doors probably came from some sort of giraffe enclosure originally. 
Not only do they need oiling but, have become unlevel due to foundation. The monks will not remove any wood to level the doors.
