This is a HUGE sign that war (and feeding laborers) is coming. My Dad who lived through both WW1 & WW2, and others thru 1981, said to look for food prices to rise as a first sign, esp. EGGS. Eggs are a staple of American troops across the board, and so many things can be done with them; unlike any other food. (Commercial break) I remember the old man literally thumping it into my head, âThe eggs will disappear first, then, reappear, and keep going like that, because they can only take and powder so many at a timeâ. Theyâre taking poultry, beef, & pork off the lots; they never reach the store and prices go up for us unwashed. Everything Daddy-O said has been spot on, thus, Those Who CAN Remember The Past Might Not Be Condemned To Repeat It.
One German woman said of the US troops when they got to Berlin, âThey were polite, but firm, and remarkably well fedâ. âAn army marches on itâs stomach.â - Napoleon
Not only do they need to feed troops, but the immigrant workers, however illegal, who stay and work the infrastructure. These are skilled, and semi-skilled laborers, and must be sustained, at least until they run out of laborers.
Well, farmerâs daughter here and Iâve gathered plenty of eggs in my lifetime. I donât know if they killed all those chickens. I wasnât there, only know what I read. But I do know that winter is the time when chickens stop laying. Youâll find a low egg count. They pick up now with spring coming and the season of rebirth. Of course the worst thing is to find a layer whoâs decided she wants to hatch those eggs and trying to get them away from her. Oh, and where I live, eggs were/are $3.00/dozen. Just got to know where to go. Every time now when I buy a dozen egss from them, I think, prohibition. Thank you, Amish.
The average person living in the city doesnât have a clue how to search for eggs, or anything else outside of Walmart.
