Does anybody know if the “Companion Bible” is a good research tool or is it a heavily edited sectarian version?

Unfortunately without knowledge of the ancient languages to read the original texts, we are at the mercy of a few translators using artistic license in some cases…

… are lost…or hidden…or not available …in public…
…that’s why we search through piles of texts…for crumbs of truth, and the ancient true science if we can say so…although I doubt…whether it even existed and was called science in the modern sense of the word…
…that is, the ways and methods of teaching, or the transmission of knowledge, in my humble opinion were completely different…for example, the media for transmission were completely different…
These modern ways and methods…are susceptible to manipulation, forgery, distortion, inversion, etc…

Maybe they did a flyby last year, took a look and thought nah let’s take a slingshot around Jupiter instead and go find another Earthlike planet to begin again.
