The Ming Tombs 1873s. Also known in China as “The Thirteen Ming Tombs,” this is a vast and monumental complex of imperial mausoleums built between 1409 and 1644. Located about 26 miles north of Beijing, the site houses the remains of 13 of the 16 emperors of the renowned Ming Dynasty. Life-size statues? Nah.!
