This is a story I discovered many years ago while researching various varieties of tobacco to grow. The drug Scopolamine, also known as the “Devil’s Breath”, is mainly prevalent in South America, but it is also found in parts of Central America. Derived from nightshade plants thieves and robbers traditionally use it to target unsuspecting victims. The ancient story of how it was used goes something like this: A man walks into his favorite cantina, sits at a table, and a barmaid takes his order. After a couple of drinks a lady of the evening visits his table, sits in his lap and brushes his mustache with a finger that has been laced with the “Devil’s Breath”. She suggests they go to his house for a night of excitement, and the robbers follow them. Still under the influence of the “Devil’s Breath” the victim willingly gives away all his valuables, and the victim wakes in the morning, but remembers nothing.
Question: “What do you think would be the most nefarious use the 'Devil’s Breath” could be used to do?"
