What was it about the years of the La Belle Epoque until WW1. It was an era of much weirdness or revelation, can’t decide which.

That era seems to be when theosophy entered the public psyche and was expounded upon by many of the leading artists, writers, politicians and supported by wealthy benefactors. They did not go away, but seem to have taken the philosophical pinnings to the ultimate levels. Witness the oddities experienced today, especially with mass communication, computer generated intelligence and hand held devices.
