Demographic, economic, and political factors are all motivating the replacement of human warfighters with “robots”. This is then reflected in commercial areas as well; engendering a digital robotic paradigm as a new default architecture, an embedded systems, if you will. This robotic paradigm is now becoming the foundation of training for most new century engineers. Even in the primary and secondary schools; robotics have become the predominant framework through which science, technology, engineering, and math subjects are introduced,
Indeed it will become extremely difficult to develop weapon systems[or any other complex product] that ISN’T robotic! Attempting to do so might be like practicing blacksmithing or glassblowing: the exercise of an antique technology maintained for purpose of nostalgia.
All’s fine and well; except for the ever lingering Sword of Damocles: EMP, electronic magnetic pulse.
Either through the Sun, or manufacture, or other galactic sources; can effect an EMP.
If a cheap and powerful EMP weapon appeared on the scene?
Analogue would be the antidote.
Warren Buffet did start those steam engine locomotives?
Did he and others have some inside dope?
Are there analogue weapons being developed outside the mainstream information garbage dumps?
A supreme irony would be analogue development being outsourced…
Off-Planet.
Also, special forces penetration ops use sophisticated analogue;
to enter silently, into an enemy’s electronic warfare field.
In other words, is the evolution of analogue technologies, over with?
Or, gone dark?
