The new Star Trek Academy film is hot woke garbage. Proceed with caution

The comment section gives me SOME hope, but this level of failure shouldn’t be achievable.
Didn’t see ONE positive comment, and yet here it is…

Loved the title: Star Trek: Beyond Recovery…

Trailer:

One day Star Trek will come back in all its glory Today is not that day

1.7K

Have you guys ever considered making an actual Start Trek series?

1.8K

This looks exactly how I knew it would and hoped it wouldn’t.

1.2K

Seems like a great time to rewatch Tng

517

They took everything [former] fans hated about new trek and doubled down on it. Bold move.

1.6K

is this a jaguar commercial?

Star Trek: Beyond Recovery …

2.1K

If your HR department designed a space show during lunch.

Why does this trailer give off a teen drama vibe?

1.4K

This looks absolutely horrendous. Just when you think Kurtzman could not sink any lower.

955

Please increase the volume of the music some more, because I can still hear her voice.

665

I really do hope rumors of it being cancelled are true.

1.3k

I’m sorry. Could you make the generic music EVEN LOUDER? I could still hear the narration.

832

I honestly though Star Trek could not possibly get worse after Discovery and Section 31… somehow Kurtzman keeps proving me wrong…

752

To boldly go where no one wants this franchise to go…

1.1K

Always thought Trekkies are the dorks of the nerds…but as a Star Wars fan, now we can hold hands in unity as we’ve seen our Franchises been burnt alive and Necrofiled over and over for the last ten years

66

SOMEBODY NEEDS TO STOP ALEX KURTZMAN!

750

“There are no Jem’Hadar women.” - Former canon, RIP.

612

Milking the Sisko without having to pay Avery Brooks for his likeness…crass!

863

Fans screamed for Star Trek-Legacy with Capt Seven, yet we get this disaster instead. Give Terry Matalas the green light to create that show. At least he is an actual Star Trek fan. Idk what Kuztman is.

88

The Orville started out as a parody of Star Trek, and somehow it became better than actual Star Trek.

513

@WesTheWizard

Why is he whistling that tune??? Do they have Star Trek… …in Star Trek???

814

I remember when I was proud to be a Trekkie… good old days.

401

Finally, The Acolyte has some competition !👍

92

I have a theory, decades ago Gene Roddenberry ran over a dog belonging to someone who is now in a very senior position in Paramount. In revenge, they’re going absolutely all-out to completely destroy Gene’s life’s work and won’t be satisfied until it is dead and buried with no hope of resurrection. I mean, you couldn’t possibly make something this bad by accident, could you? This has to be 100% malicious.

157

like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target.

339

Thank you for confirming I still don’t want a Paramount+ account.

269

Somewhere in an alternate universe, people are still getting good trek and taking it for granted…

4

Skydance and Ellison need to fire everyone working on Star Trek right now.

340

I clicked a link in Wikipedia under the word for atrocious and it brought me here and now I understand.

294

Too bad Paramount is the exact opposite of what star trek stands for.

1.2K

Remember back when it was unpopular to be a Star Trek fan for the right reasons?

269

How does it feel to live long enough to see all your favorite franchises go down in flames?

176

As a lifelong Trekkie, I feel like a group of teenagers hijacked Starfleet and turned it into a TikTok space prom!

532

I think it’s great that there are series like this. Hating something in common really brings people together.

63

This is a timely reminder of why Paramount should not let Kurtzman near anything with ‘Star Trek’ in the title. I never cease to be amazed at how much damage one man can do to a franchise and how willing everyone around him is to empower him to do it.

6

So despite the wishes of Avery Brooks, we’re canonizing that Sisko never went back to his Wife and sons. Despite it being a really big part of his character arc, Nog tops out at Lieutenant, and never made Captain. And just for kicks, Dr. Bashir never got another promotion either. What did DS9 do to hurt you, New-Trek writers?

344

My favorite part of Law & Order was when the detectives would hum the theme song to the show they were on. Way to go, sTaR tReK!

120

So discovery failed, picard huge fail and section 31 a huge disaster, but yet they still haven’t fired Kurtsman? How???

294

Alex Kurtzman to Star Trek = Kathleen Kennedy to Star Wars :frowning:

248

I always think it is impossible for things to go any lower. But somehow the manage to surprise me everytime.

114

Why does modern Star Trek look like a juiced up Apple store?

605

Star Trek, The 6 motion pictures, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager. What a legacy. Nothing can take away what was accomplished by talented writers, actors, production teams and special effects artists. When you accept that nothing new will ever approach that level of intellectual exploration, passion for science fiction, and grounded characters striving for an idealistic future, it’s much easier to ignore the trash of the last 16 years that wears the brutalized corpse of Stark Trek as a pathetic disguise.

3

Starfleet cadets standing at attention during training, shouting “duty, honor, service”… yeah, no… that’s exactly the kind of image Star Trek never was, and more importantly, never wanted to be!!

352

How did that mutant Jem’Hadar make it out of the hatchery without being neutralized as defective? Don’t they have quality control?

306

Even from the trailer, I identified half a dozen lore breaks. Do these people even know what Star Trek is?

182

Guess what New Star Trek is coming back ! It’s called season 4 of The Orville.

35

No fitness test for Star fleet i see ![:joy:]

275

I am here just for comments section… I LOVE YOU GUYS

Space Force advert and legitimiser. At least the “James T. Kirk Pavilion”, wasn’t named for another namesake, a la Snake Eyes movie. Probs too obvious that.

The franchise has always had a "progressive " agenda behind it, no? They’ve done some good stuff over the years but it’s always been there.

Its a good point that Roddenberry fought for a diverse cast, but perhaps at a level that 60’s society could accept. This new iteration is being forced on an unwilling audience despite tidal waves of criticism coupled with the infinitely predictable financial FAILURE that goes along with each woke release. Star Trek being only one of the franchises to have been gutted and corrupted.

The inmates are not only now running the asylum but they’ve now branched out to bring their treatments to a theater near you…Or more importantly…your kids.

Since you mentioned it, and to counter the negative that has become the norm, here is an excellent breakdown of my personal favorite episode of Star Trek TNG:

Both the review and the episode are well worth a watch. Back when good writing and storytelling were more important than social engineering.

Well I can’t stand Kate Mulgrew’s voice in Voyager and Holly Hunter’s voice is right up there with Mulgrew’s. So much for Star Trek.
:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Oh my two favorite actresses ….NOT!

That seems to be correct…planting the seed of idea, that technology is the only thing that matters, that it is the way forward for humanity…and they lived happily ever after.
