Guest on The Rising Tide lecture series advocating what really happened in Orwell’s life to bring about much of his writing.
Quite interesting.
This is a whopper-doozie if true. I watched this video. While Orwell was a lowly British civil servant in Burma, his lowly position was as a regional chief of police in charge of 200 or 300 british and native cops. Is that true? And is it true he was regarded well? As someone whe got results? Is it true that British cops in Burma resorted to rendition and severe tactics? Is it really true that one of the techniques in their playbook to help people share what they knew involved strapping a cage with a starving rat to the subject’s face?
Orwell clearly put himself in the character of Winston in “1984”. Did he also put himself in the character of O’Brian? Check it out.
Interesting article written by Martin Sief about another pure leftist. His bio is at end of article.
He said the records on Burma during British occupation are to this day sealed and not available to anyone.
