In short, our current Cold War 2.0 “is currently being waged by U.S.-centered finance capitalism backing rentier oligarchs against nations seeking to build up more wide-spread self-reliance and domestic prosperity; to turn public infrastructure into privatized monopolies - fabricating dictatorships on an industrial scale, from Suharto to Pinochet”.
The New Cold War is being waged against any country resisting privatization[fascism] and financialization under U.S. sponsorship. The irony is that public money made all this technology possible. Now, “they” want to own it and basically screw the public that sacrificed blood and treasure to make a better world possible.
Roman Empire: “dependent on foreign tribute for its survival in today’s rentier economy. That’s why the United States has surrounded Eurasia with 750 military bases.” Hudson then quotes Lactantius, "In order to enslave the many, the greedy began to appropriate and accumulate the necessities of life and keep them tightly closed up, so that they may keep these bounties for themselves. In the name of justice they made unfair and unjust laws to sanction their thefts and avarice against the power of the multitude.
Last time “they” did this, the people did not have the critical mass needed to defeat this evil.
Today the critical mass is there. Now, as it always has; it comes down to political will.
