Found this interesting book I’m reading written in 1951 by an escapee from Poland who lived there during the 30’s and 40’s under both regimes, Hitler’s and Stalin’s. See Page 30 of The Captive Mind…
…The Road to Prosperity is paved with tax extensions…
… see also We by Yevgeny Zamyatin and Metapolitics: The Roots of the Nazi Mind by Peter Viereck
… surely you meant “evasions”.
Currently reading this book about the rise and roots of Naziism using pagan folklore and the launch of Pan German pride.
Well it was only a goof so I probably shouldn’t over-analyze but “intentions” rhymes with “extensions” so more pleasant to the ear, but guess its really subjective as to who is shooting for the prosperity…
Amazon and its likes simply wouldn’t have been able to build their empires if they had to pay taxes and that’s a fact…but I thought of it from the point of view of your typical small business that needed to make payroll and couldn’t unless they kicked the tax can down the road a bit…probably by habit until they’d firmly established themselves.
Here’s a cool short from Jimmy Carr where he talks about the difference in tax evasion and tax avoidance:

I guess I’ll get back to paving the road to Hell now…
