The Science versus Science

Alex Newman interviewed MIT Meteorology Professor Emeritus Dr. Richard Lindzen with regards to the climate change cult. I didn’t find Dr. Lindzen to be an engaging speaker; however, he delivered a few gems. The whole interview is only six minutes.

“‘The science’ contradicts the whole notion of science… they are two very different things.”
“Science is a mode of inquiry.”
“The science says it’s a mode of authority.”
“… they [politicians] think of science as a source of authority that they would like to co-opt.”

That’s it in a nutshell. Ironically, an appeal to authority is the very antithesis of the scientific method. That’s elementary-school-level science and logic – at least, it used to be.
