Iran on reviewing what happened in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya change their governance structues and command and control structures. They correctly surmised that if ever attacked, the intent would be more than just regime change it would be existential to the country and nation. So when regime change came to town with Don and Bibi, this was anticipated and Iran would shift into autopilot and decentralised autonomous governance and command. That means the 20/30/40 possibly more autonomous regimes would then come into existence with their own military defence resources under autonomous command and government. The corollary being, that no central authority would exist to kill off, to negotiate, to surrender. In otherwords Iran would become eventually a quicksandy Vietnam. This prospect is clearly only reaching into Don’s, Petey’s and Marco’s consciousness. The neo cons don’t really care because they will have their war, their profits, their donor’s expansion agendas moved forward, and their coffers augmented.
