Let’s think about this way so. The bombed out an displaced Iranian Shia population (a moral duty my be arguable to receive them) decides enmasse to emigrate through open borders (as in the EU) to the USA. Would there be concerns about spies, anti USA activists, hackers, cyber criminals, sleeper cells etc etc. Would those concerns solely involve their religious and cultural beliefs’ compatibilty or would those concerns perhaps relate their other motivations for emigrating to the USA?

You bet ya…I promise to live peacefully and assimilate into the culture that destroyed mine.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.
Any fool who yells “racist” should be seen as a spoiled little toddler from the playground that needs to be spanked and sent to their “time-out” corner.

I always thought of culture as a more malleable form of trdition we fall back on when tradition becomes to hard or inconvenient to follow.

Naomi’s article speaks aptly to @ExternalObserver 's question posed in another thread:

And, Jerry Amernic, offers some (very frank) reactions to the racism question from his book Sleepwoking (p. 11):

Nowadays, however, I find I’m supposed to apologize to all and sundry for being white. As if I myself were the cause of the slave trade, the American Civil War, tribalism in Africa and other parts of the world, and any and all forms of discrimination against people because of the colour of their skin. But here’s the thing. I am not responsible for any of that, any more than I am responsible for the death of Jesus, and yes I have heard that one, too.
