Thought experiment topic: Is AI starting to be democratised in the way the Internet democratised

In the piece below, Yuval Noah Hariri is extremely exercised/worried by AI. To the degree that he is urging voters to interrogate candidates more about AI than the economy (Good luck with that anyway). The Economist on X: ". @harari_yuval says voters need to challenge politicians on AI today. In an interview with @zannymb, the author and historian warns that the technology is developing so quickly that voters need to press politicians now before America’s midterm elections in November. Watch the" / X

Thought experiment topic:
AI is bursting and it has many dangers for humanity, but I get a sense that Hariri is not overly concerned by humanity’s risk, but something else. could it be that as we are seeing the rapid expansion and in many cases creative use of AI power by Gen Z and Millennial users. In other words, are the providers losing control, in the way control was lost by the providers of the internet? Is this an emerging strategic blind spot which has just been realised by the Nefarium, is humanity’s creativity , evolutionary adaption and problem solving flipping the script organically?

Yep, we do need to press them…in IRON MAIDENS!

We are so far past voting it’s almost an academic waste of time discussing it. Speaking negative of politicians will likely soon be grounds for drones to become interested in you.

Nothing will happen. It will be quiet desperation up until everything goes hot. Personally, I’ve lost faith in human creativity riding in at the last minute. The white horse rode in with Covid1984 and the general population cowered down. I don’t expect the resistance to be much different when the pale horse is loosed.

… agreed … there is no way under the current system to vote our way out of this. Interesting to note that Fuentes has adopted the post Beer Hall Putsch strategy. The object now, in the manner of the DSA, is to takeover an existing structure. In this case the “existing structure” is the so-called “Republican Party”. At this point in history the funding for the structure of any kind of alternative third party is unobtainable and would be opposed with all of the available resources (up to and including the use of wetwork) of the current Uni-party.

Wetwork would be met with wetwork and ‘they’ have more practice in addition to having everyone covered from an elevated position.

I’ve said it many times already but my position is that ‘they’ not only expect, but also desire it to get to this stage in order for the agenda to progress to the next level.

Hell, we can’t even communicate/conspire with one another without giving the game away. “Revolt in 2100” comes to mind more and more often now.

Edit: as a counterpoint to my arguments I’m fully aware of the “hopelessness” Op that "they’ are running. By no means am I attempting to add fuel to this…love to see some REAL opposition, but I’ve been looking out for the action…and the people aren’t showing me much.

I agree Mohgarr … ‘they’ both expect and desire it to get to the wetwork stage. What they can’t counter, much less understand, is when we simply refuse to play … we walk away, we shun. It’s not looking good for those of us inhabiting this thing called adulthood right now, but we’re not the point. For those that come next, and their decendents, we must act … and right now that strikes me as to preserve and protect all that is of importance to us … and to let the psychotic tapeworm eat itself, completely bemused by our indifference.
