Millions of vaccinated Germans no longer have to wait months for an extra shot against corona. The western state of North Rhine-Westphalia makes Turbo boosters possible one month after the last regular vaccination.
Germany’s most populous state is turning on the vaccination turbo, according to the newspaper Bild. In North Rhine-Westphalia, which borders the Netherlands, citizens can now receive a refreshment shot against the corona virus after four weeks in the vaccination centers of municipalities and districts.
The newspaper speaks of a clear turnaround in the state’s vaccination policy. Until now, five months have been required between the last shot and the booster vaccination. Thanks to the new approach, considerably more people can receive a booster faster and thus protect themselves better against the more contagious omikron variant.
