Having soft spots for animals and nature, we find the deadly transhumanist movement disturbing – and sometimes seek comfort in reading books or articles in which animals are being celebrated. The celebration of animals and nature are antidotes to the transhumanist movement, and we find that therapeutic – not only to read about them, but to spend time in places where we can be with trees and other plants, fungi, and free-living animals and natural water bodies.
Recently, we came across two articles, by a Canadian Professor (of literature), Dr. Michael P. Gilmour, who also celebrates animals, and we enjoyed reading his ideas. I’d like to share them, for anyone else who also enjoys the preciousness of natural life and animals.

In this article, he talks about C. S. Lewis’ love for animals:

And, in this article, Professor Gilmour shares his own (highly unusual, and thus to me rather refreshing) Christian-inspired philosophy towards a vegan lifestyle, to celebrate animals. I loved this article, because it somehow spoke to something which I have often found missing from many churches themselves – a deep reverence for God’s creation (a reverence which can ground us firmly from being pushed into the transhumanist realm).
