When Trump met with executives of the larger oil/gas corporations last week, he found that only Citgo (already in Venezuela) was willing to do business there. The others had already lost billions on their construction of the oil/gas industry there, an industry that did not exist at all before their investments. The communists in Venezuela nationalized the industry through a takeover forcing out the Americans who had built it.
The men on the rigs were absolutely thrilled that Trump has changed the structure there with the promise of paying them $1500 per day - they were making $5/day under the communists. Instead of looking at the idea of freeing people from an oppressive regime, like Iran or Venezuela, Hudson makes it about greed for oil.
