Why does so much high strangeness seem to manifest in desert regions??
From ancient Babel in the desert plains of Shinar to Giza on the dunes of Egypt…from modern Roswell to Skinwalker Ranch…from the Phoenix Lights to this latest Las Vegas incident in the above link…
If you’ve read American Cosmic (recommended!) then you know that this too has the desert as the key location that her story centers around…
Some of you might also be familiar with the YouTube Channel Mysterious Middle East (recommended!) that covers high strangeness mostly in the deserts of the Middle East from an Islamic perspective…
Tying it back into a biblical perspective…it should be of no surprise that so much of the dark supernatural world that Judeo-Christian scriptures unfold for us demonstrates that there apparently is something to the fact that dark spiritual forces seem to lurk (or are constrained) in those lonely desert spaces (at least at this point in time…though these increasing events seem to portend that the aforementioned constraint might be weakening)…
Throughout history…from Cain being cursed and sent out into the desert after killing his brother Abel…to Ishmael and Esau being sent out from Abraham into the desert after God’s sovereign selection of Isaac to bear the chosen seed…to the burning wilderness the Israelites were doomed to wander and die in due to their lack of faith to enter the land the first time around…to Azazel (interesting name given due to the name matching that chief Watcher at Mt Hermon according to the book Enoch 1) the Levitical scapegoat being sent out into the desert after the sins of a nation were laid upon it…to the demoniac living in the desert and whom Jesus exorcized and freed…and as an ultimate example…how the Holy Spirit led the Lord Jesus Christ out into the desert wilderness to be tempted by Satan as He started His earthly ministry…it appears this zone is the base of operation (at least on the surface of the earth) for the rulers and powers of the heavenly and world forces of this darkness (Ephesians 6:12)…
Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house. He shall take the two goats and set them before the Lord at the entrance of the tent of meeting; and Aaron shall cast lots on the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other lot for Azazel. Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for the Lord, and offer it as a sin offering; but the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to Azazel. Scriptures also seem to point out that these desert regions hold yet another dark purpose as a place of judgment and a holding pen for these crypto-beasts in a prophetic apocalyptic future…
For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for Zion’s cause. Edom’s streams will be turned into burning sulfur, and its dust into sulfur; its land will become pitch. It will burn night and day, and will never be extinguished. Its smoke will rise from generation to generation, and it will lie desolate forever and ever. And no one will pass through it. “But hawks and hedgehogs will possess it; owls and ravens will nest in it. God will stretch out over it a measuring line, and chaos,
and plumb lines of emptiness, and its nobles. They will name it “No Kingdom There,”and all its princes will come to nothing. Thorns will grow over its palaces, nettles and brambles its fortresses. It will become a haunt for jackals, a home for ostriches (untranslatable). And desert creatures will meet with hyenas (untranslatable), and goat-demons (Pan half goat/half man) will call out to each other. There also Liliths (night demon/Sucubus) will settle, and find for themselvesp a resting place. Owls will nest there, lay eggs, hatch them, and care for their young under the shadow of their wings; indeed, vultures will gather there, each one with its mate.” Isaiah 34:8-15
