Good grief… what next? Is Macron going to revive the reputation of Laval?

French for “slippery slope” is Emmanuel Macron. Or pente glissante.

The appropriate French vernacular for the jackboots in the photo, and for Pétainists, would be collabos (i.e., collaborationnistes).

Surely hanging a swastika from l’Arche de Triomphe to celebrate the Indo-european roots of non-existent French culture would indeed seem appropriate now… going all in.

What a disgrace, one can only hope that the fig leaf of “stay safe” has fallen. Its only a matter of time before this comes to the UK with our (B)uffoon of a PM introducing Plan “B”

The reality is a little different though, from what I hear.

The police is often not controlling, including many places which obviously are not intending to control and some even have a “Controlling is not our job” paper at the venue’s door. Instead, the police seems rather keeping up a façade.

And that’s strange enough, because during the Yellow West movement (and in general) the French police was rather brutal. Maybe a sign of loosing control somewhere in the hierarchy?

I think a portion of the French police is getting really fed up with everything they’ve had to deal with over the past few years – a lot of them have committed suicide during that time. Then there are others who will tear-gas people or shoot their eye out during a protest. For the vax pass, it probably varies depending on the place and which police are on duty at the time.

Sure, the French police definitely is exhausted, showed several times ready to protest themselves or even switch side; and the “gov’t” can’t ask any more sacrifice from them.

But my impression is that something deeper is going on. Remember those warning letters against Macron, signed by thousands of high ranked military officiers? (Apparently, the whole thing had explicit freemasons overtones btw.)

Nothing would be easier to control those places which – refuse to participate in this total-control-step ; and the regular police officier can hardly do other than follow orders, or can they? So it does not seem to me to depend too much on who “are on duty”, but more of an ever growing part of the country being more or less out of control: and that is what happens if dictatorship goes too far…

The warning letters from the military showed that a portion of French people, including many inside the military, are fed up – no question about it.

I’ve heard stories about police (or CNRS or whoever) having a fairly “laissez-faire” attitude to non-violent anti-vax-pass protestors in some places, and on the other hand saw video of police in Paris tear-gassing protestors a couple months ago. From the outside, it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on.

I hope, for the sake of France, that there is something deep going on and that the people eventually rid the country of anti-French technocratic control – and of the EU.
