We could always do our part to change that a little bit. It would be nice to have some kind of a counterbalance to all the current events stuff, which has its place. There’s no need to clash as much we seem to do around here.
Why do we all congregate on one thread and fight about what we’d rather see or read? If we don’t like a topic why do we engage as much as we do with it?

I suppose. There seems to be unnecessary conflict on here though. I don’t think it’s the best course of action to just leave the forum. You can really only control yourself, and a community’s character will only reflect that of the individuals who are in it. Why are we mad that other people aren’t posting what we want to see? We should just post the type of stuff we want to see or the kind of information we’d like to contribute.

I know, for example, that Bill is now gone which. is too bad because he is an avid reader and often brought interesting diversions to the conversation. I contemplated doing the same but elected to post less frequently.

I don’t see conflict just a forum a dime a dozen where the hunt for likes to satisfy ones addiction is the center of existence. Typical problem of social media, nothing more. It depends where you want to spend your time on.

The Russians haven’t blocked the ports. The Ukrainians set out WWII sea mines (that keep breaking loose of their mooring and floating about) in order to keep the Russians OUT of the ports. They have opened a sea lane, THAT is what the headline is about. Wheat for rubles?

The issue on this topic, as with many other topics of late, is not about Putin or the Ukraine. It is about an undeclared war among Gizars, who have a propensity to name call and disrespect other Gizars that happen to have different view points.
Rather than discussion we have one person degrade to name-calling; another person try to defend themself; followed by more name-calling and belittlement; continued by reaction to insult … and so it goes.
We don’t need a moderator; IMO, we would benefit by more posts that are less about control and bossy disrespect and more about exchanging ideas and graciously agreeing to disagree.
This is just one of several topics that have over the top “posts”, which push-up the numbers for AI to calculate credits and issue awards. What about the human side? Are we humans?
Can’t we just get along? Exchange and inform graciously?

No problem @Spacespeare . I like to listen to all kinds of sources, including some MSM. As someone once said, “When your enemy is speaking, you should listen”. I do not agree (nor disagree) with everything I post. I’m only hoping for conversation on the topic. No harm, no foul.
