Williamson County has a long-standing reputation in central Texas for corruption and police brutality. I avoid driving through Williamson County. The Nazis in New Braunfels are as bad. The former U. S. congressman from there was responsible for keeping marijuana illegal for many years.
My friend Larry Earp of thrice-blessed memory, who was the 5x great-grandson of Wyatt Earp (the Earps moved to central Texas after Tombstone) and his younger brother Tanner both drowned in Canyon Lake and the county sheriff’s department refused to do a timely search leaving the Earp family to organise their own search and rescue mission. Their father found them.
