Yep, the aristocrats, old and new, have been yearning for a return to the feudal order for a long time. Now they think they’ve got the technology to impose one, in the form of a corporate-run totalitarian techno-feudalism. At least in medieval times, peasants were sometimes allowed to hunt in the local forest and the overlords were sometimes required to risk their lives on the battlefield to hold on to their power; I don’t think either one will be true in the neo-feudal state.
I’m only partway through the article, but it really is good.
