Came upon this concept while reading about the occult in the rise of Nazism. Germany’s consolidation as a nation during the latter part of the 1800’s brought about the need for a new image of want a German was in their country so as to aid it’s unification and counter the effects of the rapid social change from modernity to the intact social structure of old. Hence the rise of thought leaders espousing theosophy and pride in the ancient Germanic pagan history. Roman Catholicism was considered an invasion of their culture and to be discouraged.
The idea that beliefs can be manufactured and manipulated seems the premise of a super human then, and to this day.

I often wonder who did more to screw up Western civilization – French philosophers of the 17th-18th centuries or German thinkers of the 18th-19th . . .

… a worthy discussion … the difference between World View and Life World. One has to consider that Husserl, for the most part, is Buddhism wrapped in a German package. See Wittgenstein on Forms of Life, Patterns of Life, and Ways of Living.

We can’t forget how The Bible formed a worldview package that is still affecting world events to this day!! Bible Belt America supports Israel! My own Eureka Moment came when I realized the “God” of the Old Testament is NOT the Creator of All!!
