What on Gods Green Ireland is she talking about? (Text also in English ... I wonder how long it will be before we are all reading and writing in Esperanto)

Sean, sorry to hear that Ireland too is a state of the UN, that you are all Global Citizens and a Post-Colonial Society (just like the USSA). Been reading up on her lately … definitely a piece of work.

No mention of Patrick’s missionary work to stamp out Ireland’s pagan religion
and change the culture?

Yes, that is her perspective as Communist, she is not even a Socialist and has a chequered pedigree. She is not speaking to the Irish people she is speaking to the gimmigrant population now standing 2026 at 1.24 million having risen to that extent from 2016, when the total population was about 4.5 million in 2016. her speech in Irish Gaelic, is in itself a mockery and demeans the 70 million Irish diaspora who went to work abroad and who were fighting for and working in America from as early as the 1630s. And as Trump stated they helped to build the country not to loaf off it noting that more than half of all of the Medals of Honour numbering in excess of 2400 were issued to Irish people serving in US military. She is simply ignoredc by the majority who will deal with her in the next election.

She was elected by 13% of the electorate, following a stay at home or spoil your vote protest as conservative candiates all found themselves in technical difficulties in the candidate selction process (it’s tortuous so not delving into same) . She has no mandate and no executive power, thank God. The role is little more more than being a titular figurehead, as she has no actual power except maybe to refer proposed legislation to the High Court.

Anyway Elon responded to her her X post which was a hoot. https://x.com/elonmusk/status/2033887129231900738?s=20 As for the rest of the citizenry the following response is fairly typical "No wearing of the green for President Catherine Connolly. In her address the woke President refuses to commemorate SAINT Patrick and attempts to rewrite his story with propaganda that “Patrick” represents “the resilience and courage of migrants”. Essentially were she required to run for office again, you could probably halve her support.

Let me close by adding this photo presenting the ironic juxtaposition where British Royal celebrates St Patrick’s Day with a British Regiment the Irish Guards in a more “Irish” way than does the incumbent of Aras an tUachtáran in the Phoenix Partk. (I can’t bring myself to say President)image
