Citations of other “social scientists” in research work drives whether a research paper is accepted for publication or rejected as unacceptable by other “social scientists” in the peer group. One accepted fallacy or incorrect assumption or elimination of pertinent ideas of the original work carries forward the error for future researchers. Great way to change the history of ideas.
Scarmoge recommended this book a while ago. It helps explain the foundation and advent of “social science” and the supporters of progressive thought.
