Who still knows? Who can still sculpt stone this way?

A dock basin in Kronstadt. The only section that looks like this. Neglected. No attention given to it, or story behind it. Polygonal, beveled-edge ashlars. Simulated joinery. Metal clamps.

This is Fort Milyutin nearby. Again the only section like this. Attributed to the time of Peter the Great. Yet it bears nubs like ancient sites. And don’t tell me they are for lifting, 1800’s technology could lift and position them without the need for lifting bosses.

The same question should be asked in relation to Kronstadt Russia and Lalibela Ethiopia. Neither are ancient, but exhibit the hallmarks of ancient masons. Who still knows? Who can still sculpt stone this way? How true is the narrative and timeline of antiquity?
