WIDOR 8th SCHERZO

One of my favorite little “fun” movements from Widor’s organ symphonies is the impish and weirdly whimsical scherzo from the 8th symphony. It’s sort of Widor’s reply to that etude by Liszt (with whom he was a friend) titled “Feux de Folies” (Arrau’s version still the best). Moosmann gives it the up tempo, whimsically impish interpretation that the piece deserves:
