The EU is ploughing ahead anyhow with its digital euro. Pilot phase in 2027 with full launch in 2029. Eurosystem moving to next phase of digital euro project In addition, in 2027, regulations will come into force in the European Union that will prevent cash payments for transactions worth more than 10,000. EUR. The European Parliament also plans to require the verification of individual transactions exceeding 3,000 euro. This latter restriction has already been introduced into Spain where a tax clearance is required to transact 3,000 euro or more or even to withdraw that amount of cash. Whilst that is bad enough, the key target will be any type of crypto transaction, whereby a digital id will be required to make a transaction under the above parameters of restriction. Just means the very wealthy may exit the regulated system and work through distributed trust based systems outside of the euro area jurisdiction. Which I guess may mean further squeeze on the little folk while the “stated” target of tacking fraud, tax evasion and money laundering will still be very much available to those already involved in these nefarious activities, without regulatory comeback.

Lol the EU /UVDL way, is to self-congratulate herself on the freedom of speech she upholds and protects in the EU, while at the same time a crowd heckler is arrested by police and dragged off having asked a couple of pointy questions right under her nose. Twilight zone doesn’t describe the surrealism.

So, question: do hacked Indian individuals get constantly peppered with robocalls / fraud attempts? If so, maybe the ‘breach’ will keep ‘them’ (the people USG apparently can’t stop) busy pestering Indian nationals for a change. And maybe India will begin to police these thieves themselves. Oh, I forgot being a thief is considered a legitimate occupation there. If the victim was so dumb to let it happen, it’s the victim’s fault.
