I strongly suspect they already have a cure for cancer, and diabetes and a lot of other diseases. But why ruin the profit margin as big pharma would say.

The business model for population reduction is to profit from the process. The body would cure itself if the chemicals used in our environment to make all the stuff we love were removed, but then our “standard of living” would plummet. Can’t have that. Better to cause disease and profit from that too.
