"18 US Code § 2385. Advocating the overthrow of the government.
Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, supports, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any state, territory, district, or possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision thereof, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of such government; or
Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly exhibits any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability , or the propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government of the United States by force or violence, or attempting to do so; or
Whoever organizes or aids or attempts to organize any society, group or assembly of persons teaching, advocating or encouraging the overthrow or destruction of such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or joins, any such association, group or assembly of persons, knowing the purpose thereof—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for a period of five years following his conviction.
If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense mentioned in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, during the five years following his conviction.
As used in this section, the terms “organize” and “organize”, with respect to any society, group or assembly of persons, include the recruitment of new members, the formation of new units and the regrouping or expansion of existing clubs, classes and other units in such society, group or congregation of persons.
After landing at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, Obama visited the US Embassy in Stockholm, the Government Chancellery in Rosenbad, the Stockholm Synagogue and the Royal Institute of Technology. The overnight stay took place at the Grand Hôtel.
The following day, Obama visited King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia at Stockholm Palace, and returned to Arlanda for a farewell ceremony.
Press conference at Rosenbad
During the press conference, Fredrik Reinfeldt emphasized the good relations between Sweden and the United States since the time of emigration. Barack Obama spoke, among other things, about the civil war in Syria and stated that the Syrian government used chemical warfare agents. Obama was also asked about NSA surveillance. He said that the United States, like other countries, has some intelligence but that there are measures in place to prevent a surveillance society.[3]
Stockholm Synagogue
Obama’s visit to the Stockholm synagogue aimed to draw attention to the Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg’s deed over the Holocaust in Hungary, and Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year.
Demonstrations
In connection with the visit, several different organizations demonstrated around the city. Large demonstration marches on Mynttorget protested against “Big Brother Obama” after the summer’s revelations about how the US through the agency NSA monitors large parts of the world through Facebook, Google and other internet companies. One of the organizations that participated was the Swedish Pirate Party.
