Open source alternatives already exist.
This isn’t about freeing the EU from Microsoft. It is about the EU developing their own controlled software, for controlling their own citizenry, and for which EU citizens will probably have to subscribe.

A new Gestapo and AI information processing bureaucracy. “Digital sovereignty” no longer exists and the Digiatl Omnibus directive will wipe out all GDPR/Privacy protections and sovereugnty as all private and public data will be made available to big AI providers and plaftforms and will be able to harvest all data in the EU , deliver to the Big Tech AI providers and sold to bidders, think Patent Applications which are online in EU being intercepted and bought by competitors, let alone what it will do to individual privacy.
