A few years ago King Tutankhamun’s burial chamber was scanned in a search for the entrance to Nefertiti’s tomb. The archaeologist Nicholas Reeves proposed that her tomb was hidden behind a sealed door in the northern wall of Tutankhamun’s burial chamber. The theory was supported by radar scans that showed spaces suggesting previously unknown doorways. Dr Reeves also stated that he had found Nefertiti’s name under King Tut’s on the golden burial mask. So were her burial items reused for King Tut’s possible hasty burial?
Of course silence since that time.
Interestingly the Japanese specialist who scanned the walls of King Tut’s tomb had been in there for an extended time. After walking out he was sick and vomited and was unwell for some time. Radon gas has been detected in Tut’s tomb. Apologies as I can’t find the reference to the radon gas.
I have posted about radioactive tombs here recently.
