An interesting occurrence, exploding pagers. Lebanon news: Hundreds including Hezbollah members wounded after pager explosion | CTV News
What else could overheat such devices and/or the battery so quickly they’d explode? Were the blasts simultaneous in one large group or in smaller groups. No fear of civilian tragedy which is not surprising in that neck if the woods. Keep us informed of any updates please.
Could have been small charges secreted inside the pager, or possibly a device to release water inside the lithium battery. Interesting video on Youtube I saw recently where a lithium AA battery was disassembled (the lithium is a thin sheet rolled inside in a coil) and the lithium sheet dropped into water. It started to burn immediately and then quickly exploded. There’s a reason USPS doesn’t want lithium batteries in their mail deliveries.
The pager manufacturer is Gold Apollo from Taiwan. It’s all over the media by now. [Israel Planted Explosives in Pagers Sold to Hezbollah, Officials Say - The New York Times (nytimes.com)](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/17/world/middleeast/israel-hezbollah-pagers-explosives.
It’s disturbing. Explosives can be put into any device the public or certain groups have without their knowledge and activated at a given time.
