If you want that to make sense, the distance from London to Rome (as the bird flies) is 890 miles or 1433 km. I am using this distance because I think a vacation to Rome from England would be a pretty big vacation.
Chicago to Saint Louis, which is almost a commute in American terms is 478 km. Saint Louis to Detroit is 853 km. Once again, that is a common travel in the USA. Saint Louis to say Denver is 1339 km. Now we are getting close! Saint Louis to Los Angeles? 2969 km. Or maybe something much more common, Saint Louis to NYC? 1,407 km.
So you see, the Euro estimate that we do not travel is not realistic. Traveling anywhere in the US is similar to traveling to far flung places in Europe. We would all love to see every country in Europe, we really would, but would you love to travel to every state in the United States?
No, you need to wonder why European intellectuals keep clinging to authoritarian models of governance.

Europe is overrun by old moustache man ideology. I have no qualms in acknowledging that. The whole west seems in a race to the bottom. It is the pretend that the USA has nothing to do with disastrous foreign policy for the last 100 years or so, and that it is just the Brits and European elites that can’t let go of colonial plunder.
I notice that neither of my son’s give a cent about moustache man or WW2 in general.
It seems that anyone over say 40 (45?) is still obsessed with that.

For me “moustache man” is shorthand for socialism ideology. Does that mans name live amongst the youngsters, no. Europe has been very political socialist orientated much more then I believe America ever has. In my book the whole west, being Britain with commonwealth, the USA and whole Europe, are extremely exposed to that ideology by TPTB behind the scenes to breakup western Christian inspired culture. They want it wiped from the face of the earth and rewrite religion and history.

BTW, the commies of LA are true blue commies. Their hope is that then being imprisoned will bring more to the “cause”. And it probably will, but I think the majority of Americans are sick of their constant whining and trouble making. I think the support of Trump is much stronger than they can imagine and very few of us in the middle will ever care if they rot in jail.
That will depend if you can keep your faculties of reason intact. Religious differences are only part of the problem. The culture that understands and avoid the trap of making your kids “dopamine junkies” will win the battle, regardless of religion.
