Lifeboat Drill ... First to be cut loose is California ... seal the border - no food, no gas, no electricity, no water

I used to work for a big US corporate (yes we all make mistakes) and a large majority of my US colleagues did not have passports. FACT.

I’ve had a passport for over 30 years and been to Europe. Now since I refuse to experience or tolerate the “security” measures at airports I no longer fly, thus let it expire and no longer need one. As a friend once said, “Who wants to go to Europe to see a bunch of old buildings?”

Haha, I mean Europe has some great buildings but you know we have the internet now, and if you can hold your nose and buy a VR headset you can see the lot from the comfort of your sofa. Unfortunately you will have to agree to Zuckerberg going on the trip with you. Actually maybe just take a boat.

Trust me if I could get even 1% of the quality of discussion here at my local pub I would be an alcoholic.

Yeah, I know what you mean…

So just a bit of wild speculation but something I noticed in last nights ‘riot’ coverage was the way the news chopper (ABC7 I think) was so focused on that shirtless guy in the minivan. They stayed on that like their lives depended on it. Just my conspiratorial mind wondering if the media in the pocket of the deep blue state was following orders to project and enlarge the event.

I find PP interesting, I started following him during the pandemic times bearing in mind that I am British and not a dukes of hazzard kind of guy, but leaving that aside he covers some of the events well.

Are we seeing BLM all over again?

actually when you think about it, this may be predictive - current events are happening on the doorstep of The Industry - it seems tailormade for some dystopian drama in which, indeed, Gov Newsom, the darling of the Getty family, is seen at a dinner party while parts of the city are burning down. Maybe Nicolas Berggruen will have some ideas?

Maybe the Aetherius Club needs to call in assistance? (for those who’ve lived in LA, IFYKYK)

This guy lives not too far from LA. He’s a journalist whose daily work and thinking comes from being on the planet for over 85 years and still sharper than a tack.

I’m a big fan, JR was on the frontline during the planscamdemic and much respect to him.

Yeah, me too. He was also on the front line with the AIDS epidemic. I look forward to his daily columns on Substack and the reader’s comments.

I’ve never been to LA but with respect to the JR article referenced I don’t know if average LA folks think this way. What I mean is does the average Joe and Janet prefer the ‘for your safety’ mantra over local disruption?

The average Joe I think is kind of into appeasement and don’t live near the zone of action. The inner city folks who actually live there are of a different mindset.

I should have clarified, I mean the locals. I think we need to hear what they are saying about who was there fanning the flames. I guess we have to see how this plays out as PP says.

Probably they’ll use the wild fire tactic. Let it burn itself out and file insurance claims🤭.

This is chapter 2 of pushing population of costal Cali out of state. First fires, now riots. RE acquisition scheme as CAF would say. Reshoring of industries is coming.

Another interesting observer is Peter Duke on Substack, who with his wife Jessica lost their home in the Pacific Palisades fires. That’s a distance from downtown LA, but Duke often has interesting perspectives on events in LA. Don’t agree w everything he posts, but who does with whom?
