Best bit of work Gregory Peck did I reckon…
We already went through The Winds Of War, which cast I much prefer to this one (except I HATE Robert Mitchum). Nonetheless, we found it all fairly accurate and this 1st episode of War and Remembrance introduces one Hans Kammler. According to the film, Kammler was the one who suggested Zyklon-B. I have no idea of the accuracy of this, but love the series. My favorite character in this episode is “Lady”. Typical sailor…
I’d like to recommend “The Hour of the Pig”(Original UK version only- not the US version titled “The Advocate”)… A medieval Courtroom/Mystery grappling with Church law, Disease & Metaphysics… It contains the line - “The mind has a little eye, maitre,- it shows us in our dreams, what we have looked upon, but have not seen”… Harvey Weinstein hated it and hindered it, and allegedly abused one of the leading actresses… Very hard to get hold of in it’s unedited form (I have a VHS to DVD copy but now I find there is a 720p version on Youtube-see below)… Still waiting and hoping they’ll remaster and re-release the UK uncut version on Blu ray… (I even emailed the Director asking as much)… The Advocate or The Hour of the Pig | Animals Matter to God The Hour of the Pig 1993 European Cut Full Movie HD - YouTube
That link is blocked in US. Found this one that does work.
AHh, The US version is Cut/Censored(147minutes)- and includes unnecessary Text exposition… If it’s the Europe/UK cut it should be 152 minutes long and Un-F##ked with
VHS much more control to user.
Clint Eastwood lobbied hard against it[His TV-side wasn’t in the hearings].
DVD, a nightmare of copyright protection.
Sorry to see them" phase out" the;
better overall user technology, for the more control distributer technology.
I used to manage a video rental store in the 80’s. Many already owned a VCR but would rent one to copy the VHS movies they rented instead of buying a copy. The bragging point was how large their movie collection was and the ability to lend to their friends.
One selling point for the VCR was the feature to record your favorite television program and watch later after work or when home.
Ironically now I don’t even own a television or record anything.
Got my coffee ready, Bill? I have to go through all of my family’s lp’s, 45’s, 8-tracks, vhs’s, little yellow children’s records, reel-to-reel, cassettes, micro-cassettes, dvd’s and all computer equipment since 1967. SOS! Suggestions much appreciated. Alicia xo
Maybe a museum somewhere?

Thank you for posting this!
“They’re not going to kill me…Now.” At min. 24:30.
Perfect explanation as to why people fall in line.
Thanks!
Another good film, in The Day Of the Jackal vein, is “Z”;
that movie portrayed a Greek coup d’etat [5/22/1963].
Then 6 months later, another government coup d’etat[11/22/1963]
in Dallas Texas. Several movies on that day of infamy.
RB – The Citroëns are practically characters to me. I always wondered about them. When my first boss in D.C. picked me up in one, I noticed that he could raise the vehicle up, and then set it down, with some sort of hydraulic maneuver. I wanted to ask him why he did this, but I was too young to ask certain stuff. You know? xo
When I was in the car biz, a fellow salesman from Marseille drove an old beat up one. He said in was great for mountain driving, as it could drive on one side[if need be]. And yes, that was a feature
[the up/down].
He was older and wiser. been around the block[world].
He had some stories, that were geared; to say more, than what was actually being said.
I’ll always remember that car; because, in a way…
it was symbolic of him - one of a kind, different than those around him.
He had a side-kick.
When someone would ask his side-kick a question - look out!
For example, a new resident to the area asked for direction to “x”.
His side-kick gave him directions to… the other side of town!
“Nowhere’s near it”, was his side-kicks favorite meme.
